Portsalon Golf Club was founded in 1891 on the shores of Lough Swilly — one of the great sea loughs of Ireland — in the heart of County Donegal. The course occupies a narrow strip of linksland between the lough and the Atlantic, with views across the water to the Inishowen Peninsula and the hills of Donegal that are simply without equal in Irish golf.
The course was substantially redesigned in the early 2000s, with new holes added to take full advantage of the dramatic terrain.
