About the Course

The Bay Course – Costa Navarino

The Bay Course at Costa Navarino was designed by Bernhard Langer and opened in 2010 alongside The Dunes Course. It is set among ancient olive groves and Mediterranean vegetation overlooking the historic Navarino Bay — the site of the Battle of Navarino in 1827 — and offers a very different character from the links-inspired drama of The Dunes Course.

The course plays to 6,791 yards from the championship tees and is characterised by the ancient olive grove setting, the natural terrain undulations, and Langer's masterful routing across the landscape. The design creates a series of visually beautiful and strategically demanding holes that work with the natural terrain — offering views across Navarino Bay and the Messinia coastline that are among the most historically evocative in European golf.

The Bay Course is part of the Costa Navarino resort and shares the same exceptional infrastructure as The Dunes Course. The combination of the world-class golf, the ancient olive grove setting, the historic bay views, and the exceptional resort infrastructure creates one of the most distinctive golf experiences in southern Europe.

The Course

Why It Stands Out

I

Historic Navarino Bay

The Bay Course overlooks the historic Navarino Bay — the site of the Battle of Navarino in 1827, one of the most significant naval battles in European history. The combination of the world-class golf and the extraordinary historical setting creates a travel experience of exceptional cultural depth.

II

Ancient Olive Groves

The course is set among ancient olive groves — some of the oldest in the Peloponnese — creating a golf experience of extraordinary natural beauty and historical character. The olive trees, Mediterranean vegetation, and natural terrain create a setting that is completely unique in European golf.

III

Bernhard Langer Design

The Bay Course was designed by Bernhard Langer — one of Europe's greatest golfers. His design works with the natural olive grove terrain, creating a series of holes of great visual beauty and strategic depth that complement the very different character of The Dunes Course.

IV

Resort Integration

The Bay Course shares the same exceptional resort infrastructure as The Dunes Course — the same five-star hotels, the same service standards, and the same operational ease. Playing both courses in a single stay creates one of the most complete resort golf experiences in Europe.
