Old Course Vilamoura
The Old Course at Vilamoura was designed by Frank Pennink and opened in 1969 — making it one of the oldest golf courses in the Algarve and one of the pioneers of golf tourism in Portugal. It is the original and most celebrated of the five courses at Vilamoura, and its mature parkland character gives it a quality and atmosphere that the newer courses cannot replicate.
The course plays to 6,254 yards from the championship tees and is characterised by wide, umbrella pine-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and large, undulating greens. The mature trees create a landscape of great beauty and a strategic challenge that rewards accuracy and course management. The conditioning is consistently excellent.
The Old Course has hosted the Portuguese Open on multiple occasions and is regarded as one of the finest parkland courses in the Algarve.
