About the Course

La Reserva Club

La Reserva Club opened in 2003 and was designed by Cabell B. Robinson — the same architect who later created Finca Cortesin. The course is set within the La Reserva de Sotogrande estate, a private residential development of exceptional quality in the hills above Sotogrande, and it is one of the most naturally beautiful courses in Andalucía.

The course uses the natural terrain of the Andalucían hills with great intelligence, routing through cork oak trees and across natural valleys to create a sequence of holes that are both visually dramatic and strategically interesting. The conditioning is consistently outstanding, and the course offers a quality of golf experience that is among the finest in the Sotogrande region.

La Reserva also has a beach club — La Reserva Club Beach — which offers a unique combination of golf and Mediterranean lifestyle that is unlike anything else in the Sotogrande area. The combination of the golf, the estate, and the beach club makes La Reserva one of the most complete leisure destinations in southern Spain.

Why It Stands Out

I

Cabell Robinson at His Best

Cabell Robinson designed La Reserva at the height of his powers, creating a course that uses the natural terrain of the Andalucían hills with exceptional intelligence. The routing, the bunkering, and the green complexes all reflect a deep understanding of how golf should be played on this type of ground.

II

The Natural Landscape

La Reserva is one of the most naturally beautiful courses in Sotogrande. The combination of cork oak trees, natural valleys, and the rolling Andalucían hills creates a landscape of extraordinary variety and beauty — a course that looks as good as it plays.

III

The Beach Club

La Reserva Club Beach is a unique addition to the golf experience — a private beach club on the Mediterranean coast that offers a combination of golf and lifestyle that is unlike anything else in the Sotogrande area. Playing golf in the morning and spending the afternoon at the beach club is one of the great pleasures of a Sotogrande golf holiday.

IV

The Private Estate Setting

La Reserva is set within a private residential estate of exceptional quality, and the course reflects the character of its surroundings — exclusive, immaculately maintained, and designed with a level of care and attention to detail that is evident in every aspect of the experience.
