About the Course

La Hacienda Links Golf Resort

La Hacienda Links Golf Resort opened in 2009 and was designed by Cabell B. Robinson — the architect who also created Finca Cortesin and La Reserva. The course is set on the Atlantic coast near Sanlúcar de Barrameda, on a stretch of natural dune land that is unlike anything else in Spanish golf.

The course is often described as Spain's finest links-style layout — a course that uses the natural dune terrain, the Atlantic wind, and the dramatic coastal setting to create a test that is both physically demanding and visually extraordinary. The views across the Guadalquivir estuary to the Doñana National Park are among the most spectacular in European golf.

La Hacienda Links is a full resort destination, with hotel accommodation and a range of leisure facilities. The combination of the golf, the coastal setting, and the proximity to the historic town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda — famous for its manzanilla sherry and its horse racing on the beach — makes it one of the most distinctive golf destinations in Spain.

The Course

Why It Stands Out

I

Spain's Finest Links Course

La Hacienda Links is widely regarded as the finest links-style course in Spain — a course that uses the natural dune terrain and the Atlantic wind to create a test that is genuinely different from the parkland golf of Sotogrande and the Costa del Sol. It is a course that demands every shot in the bag.

II

The Doñana Views

The views across the Guadalquivir estuary to the Doñana National Park — one of Europe's most important wildlife reserves — are among the most spectacular in European golf. The combination of the golf, the landscape, and the light creates an atmosphere that is unlike anything else in Spain.

III

Cabell Robinson — Three Masterpieces

Cabell Robinson designed three of the finest courses in Andalucía — Finca Cortesin, La Reserva, and La Hacienda Links. Playing all three in a single itinerary is one of the great experiences in Spanish golf, offering a fascinating contrast between parkland, estate, and links golf.

IV

Sanlúcar de Barrameda

The historic town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda — famous for its manzanilla sherry, its seafood, and its horse racing on the beach — is one of the most distinctive and enjoyable towns in Andalucía. Combining golf at La Hacienda with an evening in Sanlúcar is one of the great pleasures of a Spanish golf holiday.
