About the Course

La Zagaleta Golf Club

La Zagaleta is widely regarded as the most exclusive private golf and country club in Europe. Set within a 900-hectare private estate in the hills above Benahavís — between Marbella and Ronda — the club offers two championship courses, a private equestrian centre, a helipad, and a level of privacy and exclusivity that is unmatched anywhere on the Costa del Sol.

The Old Course was designed by Bradford Benz and opened in 1992. It stretches to 6,400 yards from the championship tees and is characterised by dramatic elevation changes, panoramic views across the Mediterranean to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, and a series of holes that demand both precision and nerve. The New Course, opened in 1999, offers a complementary challenge across the same spectacular terrain.

Access to La Zagaleta is strictly limited to members and their guests, and to a small number of carefully selected visiting groups arranged through specialist operators. Playing here is one of the most exclusive golf experiences available anywhere in the world — a combination of extraordinary golf, breathtaking scenery, and absolute privacy.

Why It Stands Out

I

Europe's Most Exclusive Golf Club

La Zagaleta is widely regarded as the most exclusive private golf and country club in Europe. Access is strictly limited to members and their guests, and to a small number of carefully selected visiting groups. Playing here is a genuine privilege — an experience that very few golfers in the world will ever have.

II

Views to Morocco

The panoramic views from La Zagaleta are extraordinary — on a clear day, you can see across the Strait of Gibraltar to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The combination of the mountain setting, the Mediterranean light, and the distant African horizon creates a visual experience that is unlike anything else in European golf.

III

Two Championship Courses

La Zagaleta offers two championship courses — the Old Course and the New Course — both set within the same spectacular private estate. The Old Course is the more celebrated of the two, but both offer a level of challenge and beauty that is exceptional.

IV

Absolute Privacy

The 900-hectare private estate ensures complete privacy for all guests. There are no public roads through the estate, no casual visitors, and no compromise on the exclusivity of the experience. For groups seeking the ultimate in private golf, La Zagaleta is without equal.
