About the Course

Los Naranjos Golf Club

Los Naranjos Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1977. Set in the heart of Nueva Andalucía — the golf valley of Marbella — the course takes its name from the orange trees that line many of its fairways, creating a distinctive and fragrant atmosphere unlike any other course on the Costa del Sol.

The course stretches to 6,588 yards from the championship tees and plays to a par of 72. The design is characterised by wide, tree-lined fairways, strategically placed water hazards, and large, undulating greens that reward precise approach play. The conditioning is consistently excellent, and the course presents a fair but demanding test for golfers of all abilities.

Los Naranjos has hosted numerous professional and amateur events over the decades and is regarded as one of the finest parkland courses in southern Spain. Its location in the golf valley, surrounded by Aloha, Las Brisas, and La Quinta, makes it an ideal component of any multi-course Costa del Sol itinerary.

Why It Stands Out

I

Robert Trent Jones Sr. Design

Los Naranjos was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. — the same architect responsible for Valderrama — and shares many of the hallmarks of his work: strategic bunkering, demanding green complexes, and a layout that rewards course management over raw power.

II

The Orange Tree Setting

The orange trees that give the course its name are a defining feature of the experience. They line the fairways, frame the greens, and create a landscape of extraordinary beauty and fragrance — particularly in spring when the blossom is at its peak.

III

The Golf Valley of Nueva Andalucía

Los Naranjos sits at the heart of the golf valley — a concentration of championship courses within a few square miles that is unique in European golf. Aloha, Las Brisas, La Quinta, and La Zagaleta are all within easy reach, making this an ideal base for a multi-course programme.

IV

Consistent Championship Conditioning

The course is maintained to a consistently high standard throughout the year, with the warm Mediterranean climate ensuring excellent playing conditions even in the winter months. The greens are among the best-conditioned on the Costa del Sol.
